BUTYL RHODAMINE B - Introduction
BUTYL RHODAMINE B(BUTYL RHODAMINE B) is a synthetic organic dye with the chemical formula C28H31N2O3Cl.
Nature:
BUTYL RHODAMINE B is a red crystalline powder, soluble in Alcohols, Ketones and organic solvents, insoluble in water. Its solution appears red under strongly acidic conditions and purple under weakly acidic and neutral conditions. It has good light and heat resistance.
Use:
BUTYL RHODAMINE B can be used as a biological fluorescent dye for cell and tissue staining in biology, medicine, chemistry and other fields, such as cell immunostaining, flow cytometry and so on. It is also widely used in dye laser printing, dye-sensitized solar cells and other fields.
Method:
The preparation of BUTYL RHODAMINE B is usually obtained by the reaction of quaternary ammonium compounds with Rose Bengal or 4 '-Nitro Rose Bengal. First, the quaternary ammonium compound is reacted with sodium hydroxide to obtain the quaternary ammonium salt, and then reacted with Rose Bengal or 4 '-Nitro Rose Bengal under alkaline conditions to produce BUTYL RHODAMINE B.
Safety Information:
BUTYL RHODAMINE B is generally considered to be relatively safe under normal conditions of use. However, it may be irritating to the skin, eyes and respiratory tract, so appropriate protective equipment should be worn to avoid contact during operation. At the same time, follow the correct laboratory operating procedures, such as operating in a well-ventilated environment, to prevent ingestion, inhalation and skin contact. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical help.
